It can be a difficult and confusing time for a patient when he/she is diagnosed with dysphagia and he/she requires patient information, product samples and shakers.
Unfortunately many patients leave hospital without a prescription for Nutilis Powder as they are discharged when the Speech and Language Therapist is not there. This means that despite having been diagnosed with a swallowing difficulty they do not have a prescription to get their thickening powder from their GP and are at higher risk of aspiration. In addition, patients diagnosed in the community sometimes need additional patient information and samples.
For this reason we have developed Nutilis starter packs which aim to provide the patient with information about dysphagia, their first shaker and scoop chart and a letter for their doctor to help them get their prescription for Nutilis Powder. Each pack contains: - A shaker - 1 individual sachet and scoop - Scoop chart - Patient Information booklet - Letter for their doctor (A5 size) - Recipe book (if on a pureed diet; this is not in the pack but you can order them separately if required)
All in an easy to carry canvas bag. They are free of charge and can be easily ordered for your patients by clicking here.
We have also developed a pre-filled letter for speech and language therapists to send to GPs to advise them that a patient needs a prescription in the community. You can order tear off pads of 25 letters or print the letter on hospital/community headed paper by printing this PDF.
